What is The Vocal Void?
Shina Sekai | The Vocal Void
Music Producer | Writer | Aspiring Mangaka | Dreamer
The Vocal Void is not just music—it's my escape, my sanctuary, a space where my inner worlds take shape. My name, Shina Sekai (シーナ セカイ), short for Mukanshin'na Sekai (無関心な世界)—"Indifferent World," embodies my current reality.
Once an optimist, life taught me otherwise. Reality buried that version of me; now, there's only Shina. As someone autistic, I experience emotions distantly, like faint echoes of something once real. Empathy for me isn't attachment, but a commitment that indifference doesn't justify cruelty.
Yet, amidst the indifference, I find beauty—particularly in Japan. Its culture, history, and harmony of ancient traditions with modern life inspire me. My ultimate goal is to call Japan home.
Through The Vocal Void, I create immersive musical worlds—lo-fi beats, ambient sounds, electronic textures, and cinematic scores. It's a place for those who find solace in sound, where melodies speak louder than words.
Meaning Behind the Name
"The Vocal Void" symbolizes the paradox of silent emotions, capturing the depth and power of expressing the unspoken through music. It resonates deeply with those who connect beyond lyrics. Additionally, it reflects my personal experience with autism—specifically my moments of going non-verbal. On my first ever radio show, severe anxiety took my voice away. It was through music—my unwavering passion—that I overcame that moment and returned live on air.
My Vision
I'm building a community for dreamers, outsiders, and creators who resonate deeply with music and art. This isn't merely about producing tracks but about crafting meaningful experiences through storytelling, music, and digital content.
The Future of The Vocal Void
While music is at its core, my vision expands to storytelling, original compositions, and multimedia projects. My long-term goal is to complete my manga and establish The Voiced Program—a platform to help survivors truly thrive.
Welcome to The Vocal Void—a space where words fade, and sound speaks louder than anything.
Why The Vocal Void?
"I have worked with Vocal Void over a number of years and
watched his development as a composer/producer. He is a
prolific music creator and obsessive with his virtual instrument
experimentation – the speed at which he can throw together high
quality ideas is truly mesmerizing. I have no hesitation in
recommending him for any music composition or audio
engineering jobs you are considering sending his way. I expect to
be seeing and hearing a lot more of Vocal Void over the coming
years."
